Amelia V Cox

Amelia V. Benson Cox (Sis) of Columbia, Maryland, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the age of 83.

Amelia was born on December 1, 1941, in Baltimore, MD, to her parents, Amelia and John Benson.

Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Amelia Benson, sister Joan Simmons, brother John (Duke) Benson, and first great-grandchild Caleb and stepson Michael Croker. 

Amelia was a devoted mom to her daughter, Stephanie Evans, and son-in-law, Mark Evans; her son, Patrick Cox, and son-in-law, Brandon Pace; and her stepson, Robert (Bobby) Croker. Amelia was a devoted mommom to her 5 granddaughters, Crystal, Holly, Samantha and her husband Nicholas, Hope, and Isabella. She was a devoted, great mommom to Silas, Kennedi, Violet, Nicholas, Charlotte, William, Alexandra, and Leo. She was a devoted sister to her brother Wayne Benson, sister-in-law Barbara Benson, and sister-in-law Linda Benson. She has many nieces, nephews, and countless great-nieces and great-nephews.

Our mom loved the beach in Ocean City, MD, where she owned a second home for 20 years so her kids and grandkids could vacation throughout the years with her. Mom enjoyed reading, watching TV, putting puzzles together, sewing, traveling, and especially loved going out to eat. 

In place of flowers, Amelia kindly requests donations be made to Harvest Resources in Anne Arundel County, an organization she has devoted years of volunteer work to alongside her sister-in-law and daughter, helping to bless and support those in need at www.harvestresources.net.
