Life Legacy
On February 16, 2013, Anna passed away peacefully at home after a long
battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Throughout her last days she was
surrounded by loving family, who will miss her greatly.
She was born in Baltimore and raised by her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs.
Edward Wheatley. She met Robert at the age of 12. They graduated from
Southern High School and were married in 1951. Their first years of
marriage were with the U.S. Air Force in New Mexico. Since then they
have lived in Baltimore, Linthicum, and Ferndale.
During her career she worked for Westinghouse, Montgomery Ward, and
subsequently retired from the Social Security Administration.
She enjoyed cruising, RVing, reading (historical books in particular),
sewing, and painting. A number of her drawings and paintings won ribbons
at the Anne Arundel County Fair. She mostly enjoyed spending time with
her grandchildren.
She was an active member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in
Linthicum and a member of the Daughters of the King. She was also a
member of The Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Robert; her daughters
Lorraine, Darlene, and Susan; her sisters Peggy and Helen; her brothers
Lester, James, and Gordon; and her grandchildren Stephen, Carrie, Owen,
and Matthew.Friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated
MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 237 East Patapsco Avenue (Brooklyn)
on Tuesday February 19 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM, where funeral services will be
held on Wednesday February 20 at 10 AM followed by Graveside Services in
Cedar Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to the
Hospice of the Chesapeake.
