Gibbons, On March 30, 2011 ANNA LEE "ANN" (NEE DRIVER) GIBBONS, beloved wife of the late Paul B. (Phil) Gibbons; loving mother of Helen and Paula Gibbons; dearest sister of Virginia Layman and her husband Denton of Staunton VA, sister-in-law of Margie Gibbons; Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Anna was a member of the United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for over 60 years. She was also a key lady for Wesley Retirement Home since 1970 until a few years ago. Anna was also a board member at Wesley and chairperson of their Safety Visitation. As well as on the church committee as a whole. She was President of the Brooklyn Homemakers Club. Anna belonged to the OES Chapter #29 for over 50 years and was an honorary member of Severna Park OES #117 and Howard Chapter #20. Anna also owned and operated a confectionary and sandwich shop in the Brooklyn area of Baltimore City for over 8 years.
The family will receive friends at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 237 East Patapsco Avenue (BROOKLYN) on Sunday 3 to 5 and 7 to PM, where services will be held on Monday at 11 AM. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to Partners in Care, 6 S. Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, Maryland 21122.
