She was born on September 22, 1934, to the late Milton Edward Johnson and Thelma Elizabeth Hanson Johnson. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 38 years, Eugene Leroy Jordan, Airman Second Class US Air Force Korea, both her parents, her Aunt Esther Irene Hanson Webb, Uncle John Herbert “Herb” Webb, and her younger sister Nancy Lee Johnson.
Although Betty and Gene never had children, they had many wonderful nieces and nephews, and their families, who were dear to their hearts, and they called “their kids.”
Surviving Betty is her sister Lynn C. Johnson and husband, Edward P. Johnson, of Easton, MD, her sister Dale Eileen Clark, of Baltimore, MD, her brother, Steven A. Johnson, of Florida, her brother-in-law, Charles Johnson, of Baltimore, MD, numerous nieces and nephews: Lynnie Johnson, of Silver Spring, MD, great nephew, Marshall Migues, Lisa P. In her young adult life, Betty worked as a Secretary for USF&G; and later chose to work as a Housewife, where she made time to take care of different family members in their time of need. She was passionate about music, and travel, and loved to draw…especially horses. She was a member of the traveling variety show, “The Pascal Go-Getters,” from the Pascal Senior Center. She traveled to many exotic places with her husband and different family members, and spent many summer vacations camping, and enjoying the beach at Ocean City, MD.
In her later years, Betty began her study of the bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. She began to appreciate Jehovah God’s promises for a beautiful paradise earth (Rev 21:4) in the near future and a hope of a resurrection for our dear loved ones. (John 5:28&29) These are the promises that she held close to her heart and shared with others.
