Betty was a devoted wife of 48 years to the love of her life John Wesley Russell who has proceeded her in death.
She was the mother of Jacqueline L. Wirth (nee Russell) and her husband Ferdinand, John W. Russell, Jr. and his wife Sue, Terri L. Peeler (nee Russell), Danielle Talbot and her husband Mike and Shannon Barron. She was the loving grandmother of Julie Tolhurst (Stephen), Adam Wirth, William Russell, John Mullienaux (Tracey), and Abe, Hamed and Hannah Abdelmigid. She was also the great-grandmother of Lauren, Andrew, and John Tolhurst and Sean Mullienaux. Betty is also survived by sisters Scharley Miller, Patricia Kellerman, brother Dewy Quidley and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was the eighth of thirteen children born in Baltimore to William H. Quidley and Alma V. Quidley. She married to John in 1952 in New York City in a triple wedding along with two of her sisters on the television show “Bride and Groom”, the first televised triple wedding in the United States.
Betty was a Brownie Scout leader in the Pasadena area for many years. She was a crafter who enjoyed creating items for special occasions for family and friends. She was also a member of the Lunch Bunch Bowling league for over fifteen years. Betty was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Glen Burnie and was active in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Campers. Betty enjoyed many family crab feasts and cook outs at her home in Pasadena, and we will all miss her special potato salad.
She traveled many places in the United States and Canada visiting her many relatives and friends and spoke often of her enjoyment of travelling with husband John.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. Further visiting will be held in St. Paul's Lutheran Church 308 Oak Manor Drive GLEN BURNIE on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 10:30 to 11 am at which time funeral services will be held. Interment Crestlawn Cemetery.
