Bettye went home to Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on March 12, 2023. She lived to be a vibrant, full of life woman. She is survived by her son Laurence Wiles, Sr. and his wife Janet; her daughter Luette Embrey and her husband, Jim; grandson Laurence Wiles, Jr. and his wife Rebecca and great-granddaughter Tessa; granddaughter Michele Wiles-McCullough and her husband James and great-granddaughter Jacey. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her son, Johnny Wiles and daughter, Bonnie Katz.
Bettye was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and devoted friend to many. Her brilliant smile and joyful laugh would light up the room. She had a love for life and enjoyed yardwork, puzzles, game shows and most of all, chocolate treats. She was so thankful to be able to live independently, still drive and enjoy life. She loved being with family and friends and was devoted to her church small group.
Bettye was an Anne Arundel County resident for over 80 years. She worked as a real estate agent for over 40 years and was still an active agent. She strived to stay active and independent. She will be dearly missed and left a huge footprint in our lives.
