Calvin Lee Blades was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 22, 1931 to Lee and Anna May Blades and passed away peacefully at his home in Pasadena surrounded by his loving family. Calvin is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Patricia, by his children Pamela Dunne, Christopher Blades (and his wife, Cindy Blades), Donna Gawal as well as Margaret Hoffman, Leonard Hoffman, Terry Hoffman, Wendy Hutton and the late Kenneth Hoffman, his brothers Norman Blades and the late Leonard Blades, and his sisters, Helen Simpson and Linda Andrews. He also enjoyed the love of numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and many, many friends.
Calvin proudly served in the Air force from 1950 to 1953 and belonged to many organizations. He was especially active in the Masons, Shriners, American Legion and the Glen Burnie Moose. Calvin earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Baltimore. He retired from the Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. as a Systems Analyst and for the past 35 years was a practicing accountant with his own firm. Calvin enjoyed spending time on the computer, working in his yard and exercising at the gym.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 AM. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Calvin’s name to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
