Carolyn Ann Abbott, née Longo, passed away peacefully on January 11 2025, at the age of 82 in Baltimore, her cherished hometown. Born on October 31, 1942, Carolyn's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit.
Carolyn was not just a mother but a beacon of love and support to her family. She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Michele Warfield and Terri Shaffer, and her son, Gregory Abbott. Also mourning her loss are her son-in-law, Joseph Shaffer, brother, Joe Longo nieces Kim, Dale and Charlene, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and countless other family and friends. Each of them carries a deep appreciation for the joy and warmth Carolyn brought into their lives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Abbott, who was her partner and confidant, as well as her sons, Brent and Keith Fromm, and her sister, Rose. Together they remain forever in her memory, alongside the countless moments they shared.
Carolyn was known for her loving and caring nature, always ready with a smile and a listening ear. Her fun spirit and loyalty inspired all those around her. She had a profound appreciation for the ocean, reveling in its beauty and tranquility. Halloween held a special place in her heart, and her exuberance for this festive occasion was unmatched. Dancing was another passion that filled her life with joy, as she twirled her way through gatherings and celebrations, leaving a trail of laughter in her wake.
Her legacy will be honored with viewings held on January 16, 2025, at the family owned and operated McCully Polyniak and Collins Funeral Home, P.A. in Pasadena, Maryland. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during two scheduled viewings, the first beginning at 3:00 PM and concluding at 5:00 PM, followed by another from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted the following day, January 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM, allowing those who loved her to gather and celebrate the remarkable life she lived. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
Carolyn Ann Abbott’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return. Her enthusiasm for life, her unwavering loyalty, and her capacity for caring will serve as a guiding light for her family as they carry on her memory.
