Della, Carolyn G. On October 16, 2014, Carolyn G. (Gilmore) Della, 52, much beloved wife and companion of Edward Della, devoted mother of Persephone and Laurian Della, dearly loved godmother of Amber Nave, dearly loved daughter of Scott and Persephone Gilmore of California, and beloved sister of Marian Anderson and brother-in-law Craig Anderson and their children Ryan, Jared and Katie of California, beloved sister of Steve Gilmore of New Mexico, and dearly beloved relatives to family members of New Zealand and the U.S., passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014. Preceded in death by her father Scott Gilmore. She is survived by many beloved and devoted family members and friends that she loved so dearly.
Carolyn, a resident of Pasadena for 25 years, was born in Long Beach, California on June 30 1962, to Scott and Persephone Gilmore. After a brief recovery from a life threatening medical condition, Carolyn died at home in the comforting hands of our Lord Jesus Christ, with her husband Edward at her side.
Carolyn was a full time homemaker and a devoted mother to Persephone and Laurian Della. She was a graduate of Westminster High in California and went on to college before having a calling to join the U.S. Air Force. She devoted her life to the military until she met up with Edward Della, changing both of their lives and sparking a whirlwind romance. They were married shortly after and stayed much in love for the next 25 years. She and Edward were to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on 24 March 2015.
Carolyn loved to serve the Lord and other individuals, and was often labeled as a woman who would do anything for anyone at any time. Whether through day trips to various locations on the East Coast or crafts with the church, she infused her passion and her joy into every action. She was a devoted church member of Elvaton Baptist Church, in Millersville, Maryland.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Wednesday 5:00 to 7:00 PM at which time a memorial service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice, in remembrance of Carolyn Della.
