Life Legacy
Carolyn M. Hiteshew (nee Wood), 69, of Pasadena, died peacefully at home on October 25, 2013 after a 9 year battle with Ovarian Cancer.
She was born July 1, 1944, the beloved daughter of the late Tom and Mary Wood. Carolyn graduated from Severna Park High School, and worked as an Administrative Assistant for Westinghouse, where she retired after 25 years. She married the late Milton Douglas (Doug) Hiteshew in 1965, who was the love of her life. Carolyn enjoyed working and spending time with her husband Doug. They fully restored their 1964 Corvair and spent time together in the sun at their OC beach shack. Carolyn also enjoyed gardening, reading, watching sunrises and moon rises over the water from her living room, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Doug and sister, Helen Wells.
Carolyn is survived by two children: Doug Hiteshew, Jr., of Woodland Park, CO; Carrie DeBoy of Pasadena. She also is survived by four grandchildren, Carissa and Douglas Hiteshew, Christy and Christopher DeBoy, one sister, Lois McBee, and one brother, Tom Wood, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Hemophilia Foundation of Maryland, 13 Class Court, Parkville, MD 21234.
Visitation will begin at 11 AM with a memorial service at 1:30 PM, Saturday November 2nd at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD.
