Strong, Charles Richard "Dick" beloved husband of Jane C. Strong (Nee Campbell) devoted father of Tracy S. Johnson and her husband CAPT Randy Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA, Doug R. Strong and his wife Laura Strong of Mt Airy, Maryland, dear brother of Dr. Robert Strong of Oxford, PA and Dr. James Strong, III of Upper Marlboro, MD. loving grandfather of Bradley, Holly and Grace of Virginia Beach, VA, Kyle and Nicole of Mt Airy, MD.
Dick a Pasadena resident for 22 years was born in Washington D.C. on May 20, 1941 to James Strong, Jr. and Elaine Strong and died in the Baltimore-Washington Medical Center on April 30, 2014. He was a Civil Engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers for 32 years before retiring in 1997. He then formed his own Engineering Consulting business CRS Design where he worked until his death. Dick was a 1965 graduate of the University of Maryland and always remained a Maryland Terps fan. Dick took great care of his loving wife Jane and they just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 8, 2014. Jane always said that Dick had the biggest heart and the most beautiful blue eyes. Dick loved his grandchildren very much and enjoyed going to as many of their events as he could. Along with his love of animals he enjoyed working in the yard taking care of his pond, fishing and crabbing.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A memorial service will be held in the Galilee Lutheran Church 4652 Mountain Road on Thursday at 11 AM.
