Charles Tipton

Charles Allen Tipton (Hoare), (Known to family as friends as Allen) Allen was preceded in death by his parents Charles W. Hoare and Mary (Nee Leimbach). Born in Baltimore County Maryland he moved to Anne Arundel County in 1976. Allen serviced in the Army Signal Corp. He worked at Procter and Gamble for 38 years.

Allen was one of the 1st. modern day hot air balloonist in Maryland. He was an active member of Galilee Lutheran Church and before that Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Catonsville. He was a loving family man and spent much of his time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid boater and enjoyed being near the river and ocean.

Allen is the beloved husband of Betty J. Tipton, devoted father of Charles A. Tipton, Jr and Mark W. Tipton, dear brother of the late Ruth Evelyn Schmidt and Herbert W. Hare. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Monday and Tuesday, January 10 and 11th, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. Mr. Tipton will lie in state in the Galilee Lutheran Church 4652 Mountain Road PASADENA on Wednesday January 12, 2022, from 9:30 to 10:00 am at which time funeral services will be held.
