Cherilyn Gail Parker (nee Purdy) - 68 passed away on March 29, 2024, at BWMC surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Carroll E. (Mike) Parker, her daughter Krystle Smith, her husband Scott and her loving Grandchildren, Elizabeth 10 and Parker 7, her daughter Kaitlyn, and her brother James C. Purdy and his wife Joanne. All of Pasadena MD. Cherilyn is also survived by her Aunt Marian (Mamie) Praefke, 98, and her cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded by her father, James H. Purdy, her mother, Myrtle, and her younger brother Kenneth.
Cherilyn loved her grandchildren and helped to take care of them until her condition worsened a few years ago. She was a homemaker who loved to cook. She prepared church suppers and dinners for her husband's lodge, with some events feeding over 100 people. She was an excellent baker who made several professional quality tiered wedding cakes and many other specialty cakes. She would crochet, read, and watch her favorite TV shows. Cherilyn loved to travel with her husband but was unable to for the last few years. She was active in her church, Olive Branch – Good Shepherd United Methodist in south Baltimore where she sang in the choir and served as the church secretary for about 20 years until it closed in 2010.
Cherilyn grew up in south Baltimore, graduated from Southern High School in 1974 and married Carroll in 1975.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. Where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 am. Cremation services to follow.
