On November 16, 2009, CHRISTINE SMITH WALKER, young at heart, 92, of Glen Burnie, died at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie. Christine was born June 23, 1917 in Anderson, SC to Mish and Alma Brock Cobb. She was a former school teacher, most recently at Lake Shore Elementary School, in Pasadena, before retiring after 42 years at this profession. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Riveria Beach. She was a remarkable woman, both caring and inspirational to everyone she met. Christine was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband of four years, Kenneth Walker; daughters and their spouses Rachel and Preston Adcock, Gail and David Boyle and Joyce and Bobby McRobie; her grandchildren Michele McCoy, Melody Pearson, Sara Boyle and Ben Smith McRobie; great-grandchildren Bradley McCoy and Cory Pearson; sons by choice Rob Adcock and Bill Pearson and daughter by choice Barbara Guthrie; her sister Juliet Montgomery of York, SC, brothers Charles Cobb of Baltimore, MD and Mike Cobb of Seneca, SC. She is preceded in death by her first husband Custer Smith; her parents Mish and Alma Cobb; sisters Virginia Kane, Pansy Harris, Sadie Carver, Bertha Faye Cobb and brothers Bill and Paul Cobb.
Family will receive friends at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME P.A., 3204 Mountain Road (Pasadena) on Friday from 6-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Doug Alberts officiating. Interment will be in Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, Md 21035.
