Della C. Schneeberg

January 14, 1946 — September 25, 2024

Della Carol Vann Schneeberg, born on January 14, 1946, in Hancock, MD, to Darl and Edna Vann, passed away on September 25, 2024 after a long, courageous battle with several medical issues and resulting complications. She was the youngest of four children, growing up alongside her beloved siblings, Darlene, Pete, and Betty.

Della shared 57 years of marriage with her devoted husband, David Schneeberg. Together, they built a life of love, partnership, and treasured memories. She was a dedicated and loving mother to her two sons, Brian and Douglas, who were her pride and joy.

A devoted Christian believer, Della’s faith was central to her life and carried her through even the most difficult times. Her gentle spirit and kind heart were a reflection of her deep belief in love and compassion. She made everyone around her feel special, whether through her perfectly timed cards, heartfelt sentiments, or thoughtful gifts. Holidays were made brighter by her unique touch, as she never forgot to include even the family pets, always remembering them with toys and treats.

For over a decade, Della worked at Caldor, where she worked as a Sales Associate and later as a Department Manager. Her calm demeanor and attention to detail was appreciated by her colleagues and customers alike.

Della appreciated life’s simple pleasures. She loved watching birds, admired the beauty of lighthouses, and could often be found immersed in a jigsaw puzzle or enjoying a game. She stayed connected to her extended family and loved hearing about their lives, especially when it involved babies.

Della cherished her role as a grandmother to her four granddaughters, Sarah, Emily, Hannah, and Rachel. She loved them deeply, sharing in their lives with a quiet but unwavering love.

Just days before she passed, Della’s first great-grandchild, Weston, was born to her granddaughter Emily. Although she didn’t get to meet him in person, she had the joy of seeing a picture of him. The night before Della passed, Emily had a dream in which she saw her grandmother in an "upper room" or attic. In this dream, Della was healed, smiling, walking around, and looking out the windows, fully aware that Weston had been born.

Della’s kind heart, gentle ways, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

May she rest in peace.

A Memorial service will be held in the Chesapeake Christian Center 206 Weston Woods Drive Pasadena, Maryland on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 11:00 am.
