Dennis Khan

Dennis Khan passed away suddenly on November 24, 2017. He was 66 years young. Dennis was born in Manhattan, New York City, NY on June 6, 1951.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Bostan Khan and Marie Thomas.  He is survived by his wife, Bette Khan, daughter Laurie Ann Potee, son-in-law Joseph Potee and grandchildren Alissa and Clara Potee. Mr. Khan was a stepfather to Cynthia Zimmerman, Valerie Dougherty, Lorraine Tallman and Kristine Hollister along with nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Dennis is also survived by his twin brother, Larry Thomas and younger brother, Gilbert Thomas, both of New York.

Dennis was an author of poetry, essays, short stories and novels.  Two of his novels are published, Walls to Freedom and Wayward Wind along with several poems.  He received an Honorable Mention from the Writer’s Digest Magazine for his poem “There’s Something About a Sleeping Woman”.  Dennis was a warm, caring and fun-loving person with many passions. He loved history, philosophy, books, movies, music, astrology, nature, and spending time with his family.

Dennis attended Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn and the University of Albuquerque in New Mexico. Mr. Khan served in the United States Army working on Hawk Missile systems followed by a lengthy career in the biomedical equipment field with BioWhittaker, MedImmune and Shire Pharmaceuticals, all located in Maryland. In recent years, Dennis became a licensed Massage Therapist who helped to heal and soothe his clients through medical massage.

Recently Dennis joined his wife Bette in retirement.  After 25 years as residents of Thurmont, MD they moved to Florida to enjoy spending time reading, writing, swimming and walking on the beach.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11 AM.
