Biography

EDWARD J. BYCDYNSKI, SR. passed on August 14, 2009. Ed has been a resident of Anne Arundel County for over 40 Years. He was born on August 21, 1940 and raised in the Curtis Bay section of South Baltimore. He graduated from Southern High School and attend the University of MD, College Park. After leaving college, he enlisted in the U.S. Army after basic training He was assigned to the 4th Armored Division in Ulm Germant. Shortly after arriving in Germany Ed was reassigned to the headquarters company as the Headquarters and Company as the Courts and Board Sergent in this function. He was an administrator of the Courts Marshall. Addtionally while in Germany Ed played baseball and basketball for the 51st infantry Teams in 1959. He was selected as an ALLSTAR in basketball for the 4th Armored Division. His career included working for Metropolitan Life Insurance when he was discharged from the Army. He was a private detective. He then selected the business career of warehouse/transportation which later was defined as Logistics. He worked for Acme Markets, American Hospital Supply before finding employment with lifelike products in 1973 as order control supervisor. He was promoted to Vice President of Logistics in 1985. Although the company was sold twice he remained active as vice-president of logistics until he died. Ed enjoyed social activities. He was president of the Polish American Democratic Club, president of the Polich Home Hall of Curtis Bay and president of Country Club Estates Improvement Assn. He additionally taught catholic religion (RCIA) to adults entering the catholic faith for the past 10 years. For the past 14 years while a resident of Bayside Beach, Pasadena. He enjoyed putting out his crab pot in the summer and accumulated the crabs for a crab feast each Sunday for his family. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Gloria (nee Padgett). When his children married he would not accept the term "in-law" therefore he is additionally survived by his daughter, Deborah (Bryant) and her husband Bob, his daughter Gloria (Arnold)and her husband Darnell, son Edward and his wife Michelle, son Vincent and his wife Shelly, five granddaughters, April Marie Tucker and her husband James, Heather Arnold, Amber Bycdynski, Brittany Bycdynski, Meagan Bycdynski, three grandsons Christopher Bryant, Steven Arnold and Matthew Bycdynski, two great-granddaughters, Bella Tucker and Olivia Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ida Bycdynski, his brother Raymond and his sister Lorraine Thompson. Also survived by sisters Mary Ann Patti and Kia Ryder, a brother Richard Bycdynski and sister-in-law Nance Bycdnski.
The family will recieve friends at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 237 East Patapsco Avenue (BROOKLYN) on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Curtis Bay on Monday at 10 A.M. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery In lieu of flowers contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Route 3 North, Bldg A, Gambrills, MD 21054.
