Edwin Wingate

Edwin Allen Wingate, 87, of Pasadena, Maryland passed away on June 6, 2018 after a brave battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Ed was born on December 30, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland to Norman and Ora Wingate. Edwin, beloved and devoted husband of 54 years to the late Margaret “Peggy” Wingate; devoted and loving father to his 3 children Kathy Frey and spouse Richard Frey, Valerie Justice and spouse Terry Justice, Steven Wingate and spouse Michele Wingate; dear brother of Norma Polmes, and the late Donald Wingate, Ralph Wingate, Warren Wingate, Calvin Wingate and Ruth Butschky; loving grandfather to Ricky Frey, Michael Frey, Lisa Pack, Melissa Frank, Todd Wingate, Derek Justice, Jonathan Karl, and Abby Karl; great-grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Hunter, Ethan, Kassidy, Tyler, Haley, Chelsey, Kyley, Chloe, Ceaira, and Jase.

Ed worked in construction building homes for many years. He also worked in the Maintenance Department at the Good Samaritan Hospital for 30+ years. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, camping, bird watching, gardening, playing cards, swimming, and the outdoors. He was known for always having a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. Ed proudly served his country in the United States Army. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.

Visitation will be held at MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road in PASADENA on Monday, June 11, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at which time funeral services will be held at 7 PM. Cremation services to follow.
