Elbert Clayton Batton, age 71 of Delaware and formerly of Pasadena, Maryland passed away on July 20, 2014 at Delaware Hospice.
He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 16, 1942 to the late Elbert Clayton Batton, Sr. and Julia (Schaum) Batton
He graduated from St. Mary's of Annapolis High School and attended 2 years of college at the University of Maryland. He worked over 40 years at Social Security in Woodlawn as Branch Chief.
Elbert loved the outdoor gardening and especially cruising the Chesapeake Bay. He was Past Commodore of the Ventnor Yacht Club from 1985-1986 where he met and established many new friends from all over the Bay. He loved being on the water.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Regina (Jean) Batton and two sons Bryan Batton of Salisbury, Maryland and Christopher Batton and his wife Holly Smith Batton of Phoenix, Maryland. Two grandchildren Alexander Batton and Wyatt Batton. A sister Bernadette Kain and her husband Gil Kain of Florida, Edward Batton and his wife Denise of California and many nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Thursday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Where family and friends will gather on Friday at 8:15 AM and proceed to the Our Lady of the Chesapeake Church for a 9 AM Mass. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
