Elizabeth Grace. "Betty" Williams

February 8, 1947 — May 27, 2024

Elizabeth “Betty” Grace Williams, beloved wife, mother, grandmom, and sister, passed away on Monday, May 27 in Pasadena, MD, with her beloved husband “Rusty” by her side.

She was born on February 8, 1947, in Baltimore, MD to Robert and Verna McGrane.  She met the love of her life, Russell “Rusty” Williams in high school.  She graduated from Patterson High School in 1966.  They married in 1966, spending almost 58 years together building a beautiful life together.  They were blessed with two children and their families, Christopher (Joy) and Tammy (Michael), and two grandchildren, Nicole and William, who were the joy of her life.

She lived by three basic tenants that she believed in deeply: family, selflessness, and hard work.  She retired after over 20+ years as a school bus aide for Anne Arundel County Schools, helping to care for special needs children that she cared for like they were her own children.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and oldest sibling, Harry and is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and sisters Harriet, Roberta “Bobbie”, and Patricia “Patsy”, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Betty leaves a beautiful legacy and cherished memories for everyone who knew her.  She would be the last person to want sympathy and would be the first person to tell everyone to remember her with happiness and the beautiful  life she enjoyed so much with her family and friends.

She was a great cook who enjoyed making big meals for her family and friends.  She loved her pets, Disney, the beach, and travelling.  She visited most of the US, Canada, and the Caribbean, and was able to visit Europe several times.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, May 31st from 3:00-5:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm, at the McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home, 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122.   A small private service will be held on Saturday, June 1 at 11:00 at the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Glen Burnie, MD.
