Life Legacy
Emil T. Wehberg, 75, of Cockeysville, MD, a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather and loyal friend, suddenly passed away at Mercy Medical Center on Thursday, July 11, 2013. He was surrounded by his loving family as he entered the gates of heaven.
Ted was born January 11, 1938 in Baltimore, MD. A second generation immigrant from northern Germany, he was the son of Edward and Margaret Wehberg. He was raised in South Baltimore and attended St. Mary's Star Of the Sea Catholic Elementary and Middle School and Southern High School. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore. He was the head of the State of Maryland Department of Budget and Fiscal Planning at the statehouse in Annapolis, Md for more than 30 years. Upon retirement, Ted developed his own consulting firm in information technology and worked with Medicaid Services and the Baltimore County Police Department. After his official retirement, he was dedicated to devoting the remainder of his life to his family and hobbies.
His favorite hobby was crabbing the Chesapeake Bay. As a young child, his greatest memories included crabbing & troutlining with his grandfather and father on the creeks and rivers of Anne Arundel County. During his teenage summers, he developed his own crabbing business and during his adult life, he continued with this passion. He loved teaching his passion of crabbing to his sons, grandsons, friends, and family. His altime favorite passion was sitting around a large picnic table and eating crabs with his friends and family, and telling stories of catching big fish.
Ted is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dorethea Joyce Wehberg, his sons and their spouses, Dr. Kurt and Tina Wehberg of Princess Anne, MD and Keith and Heather Wehberg of Baltimore, MD; 10 grandchildren, Sara Llewellyn and Amanda Wehberg, Mark, Emily, Rosemary and Michael Wehberg, and Melissa and Katie Craft; one great-grandchild, Conner Llewellyn. He is also survived by sisters Evelyn King and Ruth Wroten, brother Edward Wehberg, sister-in-law Colleen Fromm, and brother-in law Howard Fromm. He is preceded in death by his sister Margaret Crowley.
Family and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated Mc-CULLY POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. (Federal Hill) on Sunday July 14, 2013 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. Where a funeral service will be held on Monday July 15, 2013 at 10AM. Funeral Services by Brian Zimmerman, head pastor of Streetlite Christian Fellowship. Interment to follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
