Evert Lawrence Quasney "Quas" 67, of Pasadena, Maryland died suddenly on June 9th at Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital. Ed was born on June 12th 1944 in Baltimore, to the late John and Mamie Quasney.. He attended Southern High School in Baltimore City.
Immediately after high school, he began to work as a longshoreman at the marine terminals in Locust Point and Dundalk where he was a gearman for the Ceres Corporation until his passing. On August 24, 1962, he married Joan Reichenberg, with whom he was approaching the milestone of fifty years together.
During his career, he became known as one of the hardest working and most dependable man on the waterfront, working seven days a week, for most of his life.
He was an excellent athlete and is a member of the South Baltimore fast pitch softball Hall of fame. His main hobby was spending time with his wife and grandchildren and always making sure that his wife, children and grandchildren had everything that they would ever need to be happy.
In addition to his wife of 49 years, Eddie is survived by three children, Candy Quasney of Cockeysville, Deborah Costagliola of Pasadena, and James Quasney of Pasadena. Six grandchildren, Kristen, Joey and Nicholas Costagliola, Brooke Grunder, Ashley and Tatum Quasney of Pasadena, and one sister, Marlyn Davis of Brooklyn Park.
Friends may pay their respects at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena, Maryland on Wednesday, June 13th from 7-9 PM, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM. Burial to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park, in Glen Burnie, MD.
