Germershausen, Ferdinand William, Sr. beloved husband of the late Leona G. Germershausen (Nee Beksinski) who died in April 2007, devoted father of Ferdinand W. Germershausen, Jr. of Pasadena, MD. Deborah L. Coleman of Pasadena, MD Barbara G. Crocker of Chester, MD, Kenneth J. Germershausen of Henderson, MD, Anita T. Peck of Pasadena MD and Christopher of Pasadena, MD, dear brother of Sister Joseph Marie Germershausen of Mendham, NJ and the late Naomi Rutkowski, Dorothy Allison and Joseph Germershausen. Also survived by 15 grandchildren.
Mr. Germershausen was born in Baltimore on May 20, 1922 to Joseph B and Julia Germershausen and died at his Pasadena home on July 27, 2013. He was a graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Army Air Force Flying in B-24s during World War II, in the Pacific Theater, stationed in the Philippines. He was a tail gunner and aerial photographic lab tech in the 20th reconnaissance Squadron, Long range Photo radar Counter Measure (Hawkeyes), where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and earned the Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the World War II Victory Ribbon. He was the owner and operated of Federal Motors in Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland since 1949. He loved his work. He never retired. He enjoyed boating, fishing and yard work.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Monday and Tuesday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral Mass will be held in the St. Jane Frances Church on Wednesday at 9:30 AM. Interment Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
