He came to Maryland at 5 years old with his mother and five siblings, leaving two behind to live in WV. He was married to Barbara J Evans for 63 years, both growing up in South Baltimore on Marshall Street. They married at a young age and moved to Brooklyn Park, where they resided to raise their family. He is preceded in death by his mother Florence Legg, and the last of 10 siblings. His wife Barbara J Evans, two daughters Sandy, Joyce Lynn, and granddaughter Angel. Dean is survived by daughters Cathy Hoover and husband Ronnie, Lynn, and Son Dean Jr. and son in law Timothy. Dean served in the US Marine Corps as a meritorious Sergeant M.P. After he served in the military upon discharge, he owned several businesses, and he worked for Canteen vending Company as an operational manger until retirement. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and spending time at his summer home in ocean city, boating, fishing, gardening, and watching sports. He was known for sitting on his porch with his pets, and family as well as neighbors stopping to talk with him. He always had a story to tell and was a jokester never knowing if he was joking or serious. He had a huge heart for helping others and was always available to lend a helping hand. As he always said “I’m a people person” . Barbara and Dean will both be dearly missed by their loved ones for many years to come.

Per Dean’s wishes there will not be a funeral service, he will be cremated and details about a celebration of life will follow. Please put up your own memories of him below on this website.
