George Samuel Anderson, 84, of Millersville, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. George is survived by his wife Regina of 63 years, and two daughters Denise Bloomer of Millersville, MD, Lauren and Stephen Damm of Crownsville, MD, five grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler and Anderson Bloomer and Ashley and Stephen Damm, his sister Alva Starr of Tamarac, FL and his brother Robert Anderson of Davie, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Irma Anderson. George was born March 12, 1931 in Nutley New Jersey. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1950 and enlisted in the Navy where he served four years in the Philippines and Guam. On July 14, 1951 he married Edith Regina Richards in Glen Burnie. George was employed as a field worker for Baltimore Gas and Electric and later became a square dance caller where he started many dance clubs such as Melody Squares
in Severna Park, Bay County Ramblers in Davidsonville, Middle River Scramblers in Middle River, Harbor Squares in Heritage Harbor and Crabtown Squares in Annapolis. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. He enjoyed reading, playing cards, cooking, keeping up with the Orioles and Ravens, and spending time with his family at the beach.
Family and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated McCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A 3204 Mountain Road (PASADENA) on July 6, 2015 from 11AM until 1PM. Graveside Service and Interment will be held at 1:30PM at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
