George J. Baker, age 93, of Pasadena, MD, passed away on January 21, 2025 surrounded by his family. George was born on February 22, 1931 in Jersey City, New Jersey to William and Agnes Baker. George came to Maryland in the 1950s where he met his future wife Nora Wolff. He attended Cosmetology school and opened his own salon.George married Nora Wolff in 1957 and moved to Bayside Beach in Pasadena, MD in 1963 where they raised their two children Greg Baker and Patricia Wheeler and he lived for the remainder of his life. George was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. George found so much joy in all of life’s aspects from steaming crabs, drinking a cold Coors Light, going to multiple grocery stores to find the best deals, dancing to a jukebox, swimming in his pool, gambling at a casino, gardening and so much more. But above all he loved people. Anyone who ever met George instantly became a friend. Whether you were family, friends or strangers he could spend hours talking to you about anything and everything. Even the most intense political conversations with George would end with a happy agreement to disagree, he would always thank you for the conversation and then crack open a new beer for you. He is survived by his son, Gregory W. Baker of Pasadena; daughter Patricia A. Wheeler (Thomas) of Pasadena; grandsons, Daniel Baker (Annie), Kaegan Wheeler (Paige) and Dalton Wheeler, granddaughters, Natalie Jones (Stan) and Ashley Neu (Jeff); great-granddaughters, Madison Jones, Rylee Jones, Nora Neu, Emmy Neu, Jolene Baker and Hattie Neu; great-grandsons Wyatt Neu and Waylon Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife Nora, parents, daughter-in-law Janet Baker and many other family and friends. Visitation will be held at McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home on January 24, 2025 from 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 25, 2025 10am at St Jane Frances de Chantal in Pasadena, MD. George will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association for Dementia Research https://www.alz.org/

A funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Jane Frances Chruch 8499 Virginia Avenue PASADENA on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 10:00 am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
