George Brown

December 12, 1928 — June 17, 2018

George Raymond Brown was born in Baltimore, MD on December 12, 1928 and died on June 17, 2018 due to complications from Dementia.  George spent his childhood years in Westport and would always tell stories of his hitchhiking adventures, across country, in his late teens.  At the age of 23, George enlisted in the United States Army, where he was assigned to Company I, 38th Infantry Regiment and deployed to the Korean War.  Following severe injury and over a yearlong stay at Walter Reed Hospital, George was honorably retired from the United States Army in 1952.  For his service in combat, George received the Korean Service Medal with (1) Bronze Service Star and the Purple Heart Medal.  On February 6, 1954, George married the love of his life, Joan Naomi Biden and they moved to Glen Burnie, where they became the proud parents of Pamela and Gail.  George was a true “Family Man” who loved numerous things including:  Family dinners; Florida vacations; Coors Light; and most of all his grandchildren/great grandchildren, whom were considered the “Apple of his Eyes”.  George Raymond Brown is survived by his wife, Joan; daughters, Pam and Gail; grandchildren, Kimberly, Kelly, Jamie, and Timothy; great grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Braeden, Kelsie, Sarah, Zachary, Kayla, and Keegan.  Granddad, you will be terribly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know you.  We love you!

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery at 1 PM.
