On January 14, 2010; at the Villa Rosa Nursing Center in Mitchellville, where he resided for 10 months, where he was known by all and loved and cared for with the greatest of respect and love. GEORGE S. KIRBY, JR., of Pasadena, formerly of South Baltimore; born on January 1, 1922, beloved husband of the late Gladys J. Kirby (nee Akers) whom he married on March 21, 1946. He was an avid bowler with his wife at the Southway Bowling Lanes, a member of the Harmony Club of South Baltimore for many years, a very proud WWII Veteran and was retired from the Naval Reserve Center at Fort McHenry. Loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed. Loving father of George A. Kirby and his wife Bonnie and Joyce C. Malkinski and her husband Edward; dear brother of Billie Kirby and Phyliss Arnold; loving grandfather of Stephen Etzler, Kevin Kirby and his wife Maureen, Michelle Langford and her husband Brian, Ed Malkinski and his wife Joanne, Michael Malkinski and his wife Wendie, Joseph Malkinski and his wife Sharon, great-grandchildren Matthew and Kayla Etzler, Brandon and Emily Kirby, Michael and Grace Malkinski and Zachary Langford. He was predeceased by his parents George, Sr. and Evelyn Kirby; two brothers Charles and Albert Kirby and one sister Mary Ellen Kraft.
The family will receive friends at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME P.A., 237 E. Patpasco Avenue on Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Jane Frances De Chantal Church on Monday at 10:30 AM. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
