George Nelson Steinbock, born in Baltimore, MD and a resident of Calabash NC went home to be with his heavenly Father on May 17, 2021. George is survived by his daughter Susan Rowe (Joseph), his son Craig Steinbock (Kari), his daughter Kathy Steinbock (William Cook). His beloved family also includes his granddaughter Stephanie Eastham (Brett), granddaughter Kaleigh Jordan (Jax Hayes) and grandson Joshua Rowe along with his great-grandchildren Greyson Rowe and Lillian Rowe.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George R. Steinbock and Margaret Miller Steinbock, brother Rudy Steinbock, former wife and mother of his children Joan Steinbock and wife Sandra Steinbock.
George was born in 1941 and graduated from Southern High School in February 1959. He went to work for ESSO and took night courses in business. He worked for A. D. Anderson Oldsmobile for almost 40 years before retiring to Calabash NC in 2006.
George's heart was to give of himself to all he knew. He loved having a good time and being around people, especially his family. He was most certainly a doting husband, proud father, loving grandfather and great-grandfather. The kids hurried to play the "Money Game" when Pop Pop was around. He loved going to the beach and went at every opportunity.
He was kind, generous and a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He loved strongly and deeply, he cared genuinely about his friends (Lifelong and New) and cherished his family and the time spent together. He lead a quiet unassuming life and will be greatly missed by all.
