Gloria Jean Leonard (nee Brannigan), Age 66, of Glen Burnie, beloved wife and mother, died Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She was born July 14, 1951 in Annapolis, to Plaige and Kenneth Brannigan. Married for 47 years, she is survived by her loving husband, David Leonard, and two devoted children, Ashley and Kenneth. Also surviving are her brother, Kenneth (Shelia) Brannigan of Glen Burnie, and sister, Darlene (Richard) Brannigan Smith of Baltimore and their children. Gloria was a long time resident of Glen Burnie where she lived since childhood. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1969. Spending time with her family was Gloria’s greatest joy. She will be remembered for her love of animals and her ‘whispering’ ability to understand the needs of countless dogs and cats she rescued over her life. McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, P.A. (Pasadena) is handling the funeral arrangements. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of the Crystal Mausoleum of Glen Haven Memorial Park on Wednesday, February 28th at 10:00 am Interment will be private following services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund (kidneyfund.org) or the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org); non-profit organizations helping to fight kidney disease and to provide financial assistance for treatment-related expenses to those living with kidney failure.
