Boies, Gordon W. beloved husband of 52 years to the late Ella C. Boies . devoted father of Pamela M. White of Clearwater Beach and Paula M. Boies of Pasadena. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Mr. Boies was born June 9, 1925 in Baltimore to William and Barbara Boies, moved to Anne Arundel County in 1951 and lived in Pasadena since 1972. He died in the Baltimore-Washington Medical Center on June 26, 2015.
His career began as a draftman with the B & O Railroad engineering department in 1943. Mr. Boies served in the U.S. Navy submarine service in WW II from 1943 to 1946 and made war patrols in the Yellow Sea and off the coast of Japan aboard the USS Lionfish. He returned to the B & O Railroad position for 6 years after WW II and continued night school at the Maryland Institute and McCoy College at Johns Hopkins University. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard Yard in 1980 as a Supervisory Naval Engineer, Chief of the Engineering Division after 29 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, boating and music.
