Grover Timothy (Tim) Barnett, Jr. passed away peacefully on October 19 after a brief illness.
Tim was born to Grover Barnett, Sr. and Audrey Barnett in 1950 in Clifton Forge, Virginia. In his hometown of Covington, VA he met his wife, Rhonda Barnett, and they were married for 51 years. They had one son, Jamie Barnett, and raised their family in Pasadena, MD. He became a second dad to many others in the neighborhood.
Early in his life, he served in the Army and the National Guard. He graduated from Dabney Community College where he majored in business. During his career, he worked as a manager at UPS where he earned his nickname, “The Supervisor.”
He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, and traveling. He was also active in Lake Shore Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Barnett, his son, Jamie Barnett and his wife, Crystal Barnett, his grandchildren, Dylan Barnett and Aubrey Barnett, and his sister, Dorothy Bush, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Barnett, Sr. and Audrey Barnett Jamison.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Monday, October 23, 2023. 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Where funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 24, 2023 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Lake Shore Baptist Church, Pasadena MD or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
