Henrietta C Baker

Henrietta “Sally” C. Baker departed Earth on September 1, 2023. Born May 5, 1931, to parents Alex and Emily Barusch in Baltimore, MD, she was a vibrant 92 years of age, who enjoyed driving her own car to bingo and history classes with her friends at the Pasadena Senior Center. Sally also enjoyed making and collecting porcelain dolls, watching classic television game shows, attending dinner theaters, and spending time with her family the most. A civilian Pearl Harbor survivor, she married and started a family after graduating high school. In her early adult years, she was a stay-at-home mom, but would later work for Westinghouse and other companies before settling in for 30+ years with the Anne Arundel County Board of Education, where she spent the bulk of her years in the front office at Glen Burnie High School. She spent her retirement years volunteering with her church.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack Baker, and sons-in-law John Brady and Mark Cook.

She is survived by a loving family of 5 children and their spouses (Brian & Joann Baker, Cheryl & Michael Wright, James & Debbie Fischer, Linda Cook, Sandra Brady), 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Family and friends are invited in remembrance of her to McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home, P.A. 3204 Mountain Rd, Pasadena, MD on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 9am-10:30am viewing with funeral services beginning at 10:30am. Entombment at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie, MD immediately following the service.
