Jack Anthony Danna, also known as Jack Peter Danna, or “Pop-Pop" was born on December 27, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland to Jack Peter Danna and Helen Agnes Danna (née Stryjewski). He graduated from Calvert Hall College High School, class of 1959.
Jack is preceded in death by his father, Jack Peter Danna, mother Helen Agnes Danna (née Stryjewski), sisters Dolores Jeannette Butler (née Danna), Joan Frances Danna, and Patricia Ellen Kennedy (née Danna). He is survived by his wife, Helen Hazel Danna (née Harris), sister Nancy Mary White (née Danna) and children Joan Frances Hammond (née Danna) and partner Joseph Wyatt, Janet Leigh Treff (née Danna) and husband Doug Treff, Joyce Lynn Hepburn (née Danna) and husband Mike Hepburn Sr, and Jack Anthony Danna, Jr.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren: April Tomlinson (née Hammond) with husband Stephen Tomlinson, Christopher Dye, Jeffery Dye, Michael Hepburn, Jr., Dylan Treff with fiancé Sierra Mitchell, Steven Hepburn with fiancé Krissy Burton, Jacob Harmon-Darrow, and Grace Harmon-Darrow. He also had two great-grandchildren: Jared Tomlinson and Alexia Tomlinson, and two step-great-grandchildren, Chelsie Burton and Alexia Burton.
For nearly his entire career, Jack worked in the milk and bread industries, working for many companies including Koester, Sunbeam, Wonder Bread, Sealtest, Schmidt, and IBC (Interstate Bakeries Corporation). He started as a delivery man and was promoted to management.
In servitude to his community, Jack belonged to multiple service organizations over the years, including the Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department, of which he was a founding member. He was also a “Friend of Bill W.” for 52 years. Through his service and dedication to the organization, he sponsored countless people, providing the essential support and foundation needed to succeed. Jack was always known as a generous man with both his time and possessions and would help anyone who needed an extra boost in life.
He was devoted to the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens along with being an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed watching those sports regularly with family and friends. Moreover, Jack found time to restore historic cars and enjoyed working on his boat.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family-owned and operated McCully -Polyniak Funeral Home, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena, Maryland on Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 5-7 PM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org)
