Herget, Suddenly on December 16, 2016, James A., of Brooklyn. He was known as the Mayor of Brooklyn. Born on January 2, 1933 and died on December 16, 2016, James was always there to offer a helping hand to those in need. James sold papers as a young boy and as a young man worked at both the Patapsco and Victory movie houses in Brooklyn. He retired from Kennecott Copper Co., and served in the US Army abroad in Germany. He was always known for flying the American Flag. He enjoyed his daily visits to the McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, P.A., in Brooklyn, to visit with the staff, which were also his friends. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy Herget, (nee Saunders), a sister, Joan Rathell and one brother, Edward Herget. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nora (Larsen) Herget, and siblings, Robert, George, Harvey, and William Herget, Doris Iannotti and Norma Farrell. James is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and his loving cousin, Shirley Hawrysch.
The family will receive friends at the family-owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 237 East Patapsco Ave., (Brooklyn), on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM, where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 1 PM. Entombment following in
