Jamison Laprade
November 23, 1945 — November 24, 2016
Jamison “Jay” Edward LaPrade lost his battle with leukemia on Thursday November 24, 2016 at his home in Brooklyn Park. He was 71.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ina Rines LaPrade; his son, Timothy M. LaPrade of Brooklyn Park, MD; his daughter, Tina M. Caldwell and son-in-law, Damian C. Caldwell of Martinsburg, WV; and his grandchildren, Cody N. Pannuty, Mason A. Caldwell, and Ariana M. Caldwell.
Jay was born on November 23, 1945 in Wirtz, Virginia, to parents Harry E. LaPrade and Ruth Campbell. Always the scrapper, he survived a cancerous brain tumor that was diagnosed in 1989. He worked at Millennium Chemicals for more than 40 years; beginning employment in 1966 and retiring in 2007.
He was a great family man and a loving father. He enjoyed politics, sports, and doting on his grandchildren. His family and friends will always remember him as a tough but compassionate person.
