Pickens, Jimmie l. beloved husband of Dixie A. Pickens (Nee Jernigan) devoted father of Charlie Dunn of AZ. And Heather Graulich of Pasadena, dear brother of Sheila L. Stensrud of Utah , Steven K. Pickens of Glen Burnie and the late Dennis W. Pickens, loving grandfather of Kennedy Graulich of Pasadena.
Mr. Pickens was born in Arizona on September 23, 1947 to Rayburn and Colleen Pickens and died in Harbor Hospital on April 11, 2012. He was an Anne Arundel County resident for 40 years living the last seven in the Pasadena area. Mr. Pickens was a Plant equipment engineer for Anne Arundel County Board of Education for 39 years, retiring in 2010. He was President for 12 years of the AFLCIO-AFSCMF. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool and spending time with family and friends. He served as a sergeant in the Air Force from 1966 to 1970.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road (PASADENA) on Saturday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 5:00 PM. Burial will be private. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Maryland 1601 Nicodemus Road Reisterstown, Maryland 21136.
