Carrick, Joan Marie, beloved wife of James Nevin Carrick, devoted mother of Karen Lynn Byrd of Washington, dear sister of Robert Lowe, Bonnie Lowe and Tonna Phelps, all of Pasadena and the late Charles Donald Lowe, loving grandmother of Tara Lynn Armstrong of Washington, loving great-grandmother of Ayden George Matthew Armstrong of Washington.
Mrs. Carrick of Brooklyn Park was born in Maryland on March 6, 1933 to John and Helen Lowe and died in Harbor Hospital on May 18, 2013. She was a 1952 graduate of Southern High School, a volunteer at Harbor Hospital Center since 1993, a volunteer for the Brooklyn Park volunteer fire department ladies auxiliary, a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon ladies auxiliary and drill team. She sponsored Naval Academy Mid-Shipman from 1982-1993. She was a member of the Elks, 55 and over club of Locust Point and the Dollywogs. She worked for 30 years as a administrative assistant for the Anne Arundel County Police, Fire and Road departments.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Wednesday and Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Where funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Seasons Hospice 6934 Aviation Blvd. Suites N-R, Glen Burnie, Maryland 21061.
