Joan Elaine Bernadette McKenney England, beloved wife of the late Drexel Esco England; loving companion of Ludwig Stumpfoll; devoted mother of David England, Donald England, Linda Grimes and Daniel England; mother-in-law of Laurie England, Douglas Grimes, and Natalie England; dear sister of Betty Wood; loving grandmother of Donald England, Jr., Eric England, Jessica Grimes, Joanna Grimes, Jennifer Grimes, Amanda Ritchie, Zachary Page, Daniel England and Eli Heck; dearest great grandmother of Mikayla Ritchie, Kevin Ritchie and Lillian Page.
Mrs. England was born in Washington, DC on April 27, 1937 to Arthur Joseph and Ruth Elizabeth McKenney and died on October 22, 2013 surrounded by loved ones. Joan's life was centered on service to her family, church and community. She was especially devoted to the Boy and Girl Scouts of America, the PTA, St. Mary's Church Sodality and Choir, and Our Lady of the Chesapeake's Eucharistic Ministry. In addition to her volunteer activities, Joan held various professional positions while raising her family eventually retiring from Product Development Corporation as a Payroll Manager. Joan will be dearly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Chesapeake, 8325 Ventnor Road, Pasadena, MD. Internment at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Rd., Brentwood, MD.
