John F. Filippelli, Born on March 27, 1957, in Woodside, New York. He moved to Glen Burnie, MD in 1980 and after 41 years moved to Pasadena where he and his wife Karen were blessed to fulfill their dream of living by the water in Sillery Bay.
John was predeceased by his parents Albina and Michael Filippelli, brother William Filippelli (Naomi) nephew James Filippelli Jr. He was a Loving brother to Michael Filippelli (Misty), James Filippelli (Erika),Linda Gimignani( Vincent),
Devoted husband of 45 years to Karen Filippelli, father of Salvatore Filippelli (Jennifer), Nina Crites (Jessie), Nicholas Filippelli (Dana Randolph). Dedicated grandfather to Ethan Pollock, Calista Filippelli, Jovani Crites, Angelo Crites, Liliana Munafo, Corrado Filippelli and Giada Filippelli.
His nieces and nephews Christopher Filippelli, Tom Fagan (Nicky), Michael (Ashley) Filippelli, Jennifer Filippelli, Amanda (Jeffery)Morales, Antionette Filippelli, Roman Gimignani and Natalie Gimignani. He is also survived by his many cousins and friends. John graduated from Aviation High School in Long Island City, New York where he earned his FAA licenses to become an Aircraft Technician. John loved his 45-year career and spent the last 37 working for US Airways which later merged with American Airlines. His talent for problem solving and mechanical skills were not limited to airplanes. There was nothing he could not fix. John brought light and laughter to everyone and everywhere he went. He loved traveling, boating, music, but most of all time with his family and friends. Nothing was more important than making memories with those he loved. John returned home to his parents on his 68th birthday. He bravely fought heart disease for the past 25 years for his family. We could not have given him a more beautiful present. We will miss his love, stories, sense of humor and his passion for life. John always gave 1000%.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to these organizations: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or The University of Maryland Hospital at the links below.
