Born in Quantico, Virginia on May 7,1962, son of Donald Acey and Shirley Deron Parr. John grew up in a loving household with his two brothers, Dave and Mike, and sister Sherry Morris. During his life John had to endure the untimely deaths of his father and sister, then the passing of his mother. John’s love for his family was unquestionable and he passed this love onto his daughter Deanna Burns, son Drew Parr, son-in-law Justin Burns and grand-children Emma, Owen, and Ella.
While he was an avid outdoorsman, that loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and just being outdoors, his biggest impact was to every person that got the privilege to know him for the kind, gentle, and amazing man he was. He loved the country he served as a proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He served the community in an honorable profession installing the lifesaving fire suppression and smoke detection equipment that protected so many. John’s presence on this earth touch the lives of so many and made this world a better place.
While John will be dearly missed by all who knew him, losing his fight to lung cancer on January 26, 2021, he would want everyone to know that he is at peace, without pain, and happy to be reunited with his parents and sister.
