Biography

On June 7, 2011, JOHN POLYNIAK, a veteran and member of Co. C 116th infantry 29th Division, who participated in D-Day landing June 6, 1944 and seriously wounded on June 17, 1944. Beloved husband of the late Cleo R. Polyniak (nee Wetzel); devoted father of Suzanne R. Costa, David D. Polyniak and John R. Polyniak; cherished grandfather of David Wildt, William, Richard, Scott and Julie Polyniak and great grandfather of Emma Polyniak; loving brother of Helen, Olga, Paul and Daniel Polyniak.
The family will receive friends at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 237 East Patapsco Avenue (Brooklyn) on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church on Saturday at 11 AM. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans.
