With profound sadness we announce the passing of John Wenzel, our loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather on January 16, 2022.
Born and raised in Baltimore, John settled down in Pasadena Maryland where he lived for the next 53 years. After retiring from Western Electric he enjoyed fishing, camping, building models and was a brilliant craftsman and train enthusiast. He loved the Ravens, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a highly respected member of the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Fire Fighters Hall of Fame.
He is preceded in death by his son John Wenzel Jr. and grandson Christopher Walker.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Helen Wenzel, daughter Kathy Walker and her husband Gary Walker, Son Steven Wenzel and his wife Angela Wenzel, and his grandchildren, Jared Wenzel and his wife Katherine, Rachel Check and her husband William, Brittany Wenzel and her fiancé Jonathan Leathers, Steven Wenzel Jr., Beth Walker, Gabby Grum, and Bradley Wenzel.
John was a kind and generous man who will be missed deeply and will be remembered for all the stories he shared about his long and full life.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Thursday 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 pm. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday by 10 am and proceed to the Loudon Park Cemetery for a Graveside service at 11 am
