Joseph “Zoey” A. Rakaczky, 66, of Orlando, Florida passed away in his sleep on Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Pasadena, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph “Jack” J. Rakaczky and Eleanor Grace (Johnston) Rakaczky.
Joe is survived by two children, son Christopher Rakaczky of Baltimore, Maryland, and daughter Casey Rakaczky of Jupiter, Florida. Also, he is survived by a sister, Nina M. Menas and her husband John Menas of Pasadena, Maryland.
Born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Joe was a graduate of Derry Area High School and attended Holy Family Catholic Church. Later in life, Joe was a retired Mechanical Engineer at Lockheed Martin in Florida. Joe was a loving father, brother, and friend whose favorite past times included bowling, traveling, and listening to classic rock music reminiscent to the tunes he performed in his earlier years as a bass guitarist in the Loco Brothers Band.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home, PA 3204 Mountain Rd, Pasadena, Maryland 21122. Viewing between 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 408 S Chester St, Baltimore, Maryland 21231. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery 7305 German Hill Rd, Baltimore, Maryland 21222
