Keith Frater

January 12, 1964 — October 24, 2015

Keith A. Frater, 51, of Glen Burnie, died after 17 years battle with lupus on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at home. He was born on January 12, 1964 to Arthur and Sheila Frater in Wilmington, Delaware. He was married to Lynn Frater for 28 years and father to Harrison and Ethan.

After graduating from Largo High School in 1980, Keith started his career in construction. Among his many works, he helped to build Fed-Ex Field and he was foreman of the Navy Stadium renovations, before his illness forced him to become a great stay at home father.

Keith’s involvement in his children’s lives while growing up included becoming Cubmaster of Pack 725 and coaching soccer for many years. Keith enjoyed fishing, cooking, and long motorcycle rides with his family and friends.

Keith’s life would seem too short for many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.

He is survived by his wife Lynn Frater, son’s Harrison and Ethan Frater, father and step mother Arthur and Sandy Frater, brothers and their spouses Scott and Eileen, Raymond and Janice, nieces and nephews Candice Houck, Charles, James, Rebekah, Morgan, and Chase Frater, Daniel Leonard, Josh, David, and Joey Livermore, Misty and Kenneth Rice.

He was preceded in death by his mother Sheila Frater.

A private family service is being held at Temple Beth Shalom and a public Celebration of Life is being held on Nov. 13, 2015 at Lighthouse Church at 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lupus Foundation, 1319 F St NW, Suite 305, Washington, DC 20004  or She Is Safe, Lighthouse Church, 120 Langley Rd N, Glen Burnie, MD 21060. Please make checks payable to Lighthouse Church and include “In memory of Keith Frater” in the memo line.
