Leroy Eugene Crabb
February 6, 1950 – December 22, 2020
Leroy “Lee” Eugene Crabb passed away on December 22, 2020 in Elkton, Maryland. Lee was survived by his daughter, Stacey Kilgore; son, Joseph Crabb and his wife, Alicia; and son, Christopher Crabb. He was a loving grandfather to Kahlie, Carley, Lucas, and Logan Kilgore, Kaitlyn and Melody Reagle, and Joseph and Lucia Crabb and great-grandfather to Adrian Herrera. He was also survived by his brothers, Charles Crabb and Arthur “Woody” Crabb, and sisters, Barbara Thacker and Charlotte Ochs, and many nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind many loved ones that that he considered his family, including the mother of his children, Maria Testa-Price; son, Steve Delawder and Carolyn Rogers; brother, Robert Giesler and family; sister, Sue Giesler and family; sister, Bonnie Davis and family; and dear friends, Steve and Kathy Manion and Craig Snellings.
Lee was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Ida; brother, Lawrence Buckheit; and dear friend, Linda Snellings.
Lee proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, earning the rank of sergeant and many awards and honors, including a purple heart for his service in the Vietnam War. After the military, he continued serving the public as a Baltimore City Police officer. He then began his career with CSX Railroad and retired as a conductor in 2008. After retiring, he enjoyed working in construction and home improvement.
Lee enjoyed playing horseshoes, fishing, mowing lawns, working on projects around the house, eating crabs withhis family, and watching the Ravens and Orioles. His favorite pastimes included vacationing at the beach, attending opening day of the Orioles, and dining at Buffalo Wild Wings with friends and family. Lee was a member of the Elkton Memorial VFW Post #8175 and enjoyed volunteering for all of their events, especially Toys for Tots.
Family and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena on Monday, December 28, 2020, 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral service will be private and held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 11:00am. Interment with military honors will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. The funeral service will be streamed live for those loved ones that cannot attend. The family is planning a larger memorial once it can be done safely.
