Lillian Yanky Glaser, 101, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, after living a long, full, and wonderfully vibrant life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, great‑great‑grandmother, and friend to many. Her love for her family and her faith will leave a legacy that lives on in all who knew her.
Lillian was the proud matriarch of a large and loving family. She was the beloved mother of Ruth Koch (Fred), Lois Walton, and Donna Tomaszewski (Walter). She adored her grandchildren—Jennifer (Mike), Sandy (Erik), Brian, Matthew (Erin), Jeannie (Greg), and James—and her great‑grandchildren, Shannon, Nathan (Johnnie), Paul, Lucas, Sydney, and Marty, as well as her great‑great‑grandchildren, Brooks and Adley.
Born and raised on the Magothy River, Lillian loved the water and had countless fond memories of fishing and crabbing with her family. She always said there was nothing better than a soft crab sandwich or a bowl of oyster stew—unless, of course, it was a footlong hot dog from Ann’s or something chocolate!
She worked as a secretary in varying places -- first at McCormick’s Spice Company and later six years at Jessup Prison.
Lillian wasn’t just a card and word game player; she was a *champion*. If you sat down at the table with her, you knew you were in for a battle (and probably a loss). She loved gardening, birdwatching, and taking long walks, always finding joy in the beauty around her.
Her later years were brightened by her special bond with Emme at Assisted Living Well. Together, they shared laughter, stories, and a connection that meant the world to Lillian.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alexander Yanky & Olga Felvock Yanky; husband, William (Bud); her brother, Wimbert (Joanne); her sister, Ruth (Hank); and her grandson, James.
Lillian’s life was full of faith, family, and a whole lot of fun. Her warmth, strength, and knack for making everyone feel loved will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
