Lyle Edmond Delfosse, Lt. Col. (Ret.), aged 87, of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away on October 4, 2018 at 11:00 while resting peacefully at the Chesapeake Hospice Center and accompanied by his family. Lyle was born July 24, 1931, in Tacoma Washington to John and Adelaide Delfosse. In 1957, Lyle married Christarenate Delfosse (nee Dinter) in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Lyle was a 22 year combat veteran of the U.S. Air Force retiring from active duty in December 1972. Among his many commendations for his service, Lyle was awarded the Silver Star and Distinguished Flying Cross (with a combat V for valor) for his bravery in the face of enemy fire during his service in the Vietnam War. After his retirement from active duty, and from 1974 until 2007, Lyle opened, owned and operated a custom woodcraft business building beautiful, elegant wood furniture for homes throughout the Baltimore/Washington area. Lyle is survived by Chris, his wife of 61 years, his two sisters Isabelle and Janine, his five children Virginia, Diane, Erik, Karen, and Craig. In addition, Lyle is remembered by his twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Lyle’s life was a symbol of faith and service for all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated McCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road (PASADENA) on Thursday October 11, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday October 12, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Severna Park Evangelical Church 110 Ritchie Highway Pasadena, Maryland 21122. Interment will be on Monday October 15, 2018 at 1 PM at Crownsville Veteran Cemetery.
