Margaret Theresa Burr (nee Chick) was a wife, mother, and grandmother who was born in and grew up in the Pigtown neighborhood of Baltimore. A lifelong Christian, she worked as an analyst for the NSA & a branch assistant manager for 1st National Bank of Maryland, but her lifelong passion was her family. Marge enjoyed cooking (which goes back in her family to being cooks for the Royal House of Hungary), crossword puzzles, and sewing, but most of all she loved to laugh. She was happiest when one of those passions dovetailed with a chance to help or serve others. Whether she was attending St. Paul’s in Baltimore, St. Martin’s-In-The-Field in Severna Park, or St. Andrew’s in Pasadena, she went out of her way to serve because that is what Christ called her to do. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and in particular playing the handbells, which she began playing while in the Baltimore City gifted and talented program in the early 1960s. In her later years she took great pleasure in watching her grandchildren grow up and find their passions, be they dance, sports, or a career path in college.
She is survived by her husband Ronald, her children Rebecca Hogan (James), Ronald Jr. (Elizabeth), grandson Bradley Hogan, granddaughter Shelby Hogan, and her brother Michael Chick, Jr. and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Chick, Sr. and Theresa Chick, her sisters Shirley Cloud and Mary Ellen Backoff and brother David Chick.
