Maria Roe

Maria Esther Roe, age 86, of Woodbridge, VA, and formerly of Baltimore, MD passed away on February 17, 2015, at her residence surrounded by family members. She lived the final month of her life in hospice care and died of congestive heart failure. She was born on April 30, 1928, in Baltimore, MD, to Herbert Leon Dodge and Lillian Weaver. Early in her life she worked in a dry cleaning business owned by her mother. Later she worked in Rice's bakery in Baltimore, then in Sears, Roebuck, and Co. as a telephone catalog operator, and then in Ames department store. She was a member of Our Lady of the Chesapeake Catholic Church. Her joys in life included many interests such as collecting Longaberger baskets and associated visits to Dresden, OH. She enjoyed attending scrapbook weekends and creating scrapbooks. She enjoyed the beach, shopping, Maryland crab cakes, and spending time with her family, friends, and cats. Her most recent cat Faith has moved in with her daughter Debbie and son-in-law Jim. Marie was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed visits often. Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years Donald L Roe in 1990. Marie is survived by her children Donald L Roe Jr of Bridgeville, DE, and his wife Ellen, son Michael S Roe of Littlestown, PA, and his wife Donna, son Brian J Roe of Baltimore, MD, and his partner Beth, and daughter Deborah M Morrison of Woodbridge, VA, and her husband Jim. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Our Lady of the Chesapeake Church 8325 Ventnor Road (PASADENA) on Friday at 9:30 AM. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
